The University of Kansas
Center for Telemedicine & Telehealth is a recognized world leader in
telehealth services and research.
Beginning in 1991 with a single connection to a community in western Kansas,
the Kansas telehealth network now has accessed more than 100 sites throughout
the state, has conducted many thousands of clinical consultations for the people
of Kansas and has hosted hundreds of educational events for health professionals,
teachers, students and the public.
KUCTT has become an integral piece of several national and international
collaborations, which have demonstrated the significant potential of telehealth
technologies to eliminate distance as a barrier to healthcare. With more than
24,000 clinical consultations and educational events distributed across numerous
allied health, nursing and medical specialties, KUCTT has become one of the oldest
and most successful telehealth programs in the world.
