Health professionals avail themselves of the many other fine resources on the KU Med campus.

The Archie R. Dykes Medical Library contains an outstanding collection of books and periodicals. Containing hundreds of thousands of books, periodicals, and other holdings, it is an unparalleled learning and research resource. The Dykes library has the ability to search medical library databases across the country and secure materials through interlibrary loan. Many of our own materials are available in electronic form for use by faculty, residents and students.

Kirmayer Fitness Center offers programs and equipment for use by students, residents, and staff. It is a two-story, 50,000 square foot facility designed to promote physical fitness and wellness among members of the University of Kansas Medical Center Community. It provides a full complement of services, such as classes, indoor sports (including basketball and racquetball), sports massage, aerobics, swimming, relaxation, and much more. See their web site for details.

The Clendening History of Medicine Library and Museum has one of the top history of medicine collections in the country. Among our most prized possessions is the collection of letters written by Florence Nightingale during the Crimean War. It is among several collections of letters, manuscripts and drawings that have been captured electronically.

The KU Med Bookstore carries clothing, scrubs, computer software, PDAs, snacks, toiletries, and of course books. Conveniently located on the Medical Center campus.
