We are the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, part of the KU Medical Center. We are the source of primary and specialty pediatric care to children throughout the Kansas City area, with more than 40,000 visits annually to our outpatient facility, located in the Miller building on the KU Medical Center campus. Much of our care is provided at reduced rates, to those with little or no insurance coverage. We provide pediatric specialty care throughout the state of Kansas through our outreach clinics. We provide primary care and urgent care to children in the Kansas City, Kansas School District through a nationally-recognized telemedicine program, TeleKidcare®.
As faculty within the University of Kansas School of Medicine, we provide instruction to medical students at all levels of training. We also provide instruction to students within the KU School of Nursing and the KU School of Allied Health.
We provide direct instruction and supervision of the residents within the Residency Program

The General Pediatrics Division provides primary care for patients from birth through adolescence. This includes routine screening and physicals, well-child and developmental evaluations, and visits for common ailments and problems. Our main clinic, in the Miller Building, accommodates over 15,000 outpatient visits each year. Our pediatricians also provide primary care through the Health Departments in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties, as well as through satellite clinics located in Overland Park in Johnson County and the Argentine district of Kansas City, Kansas. In addition, we cared for nearly 400 students in the Kansas City, Kansas public schools through the TeleKidcare® program.
